TBU is the Best among Universities Established after 1989

According to the British Quacquarelli Symonds education company (QS Ranking), Tomas Bata University in Zlín ranks among the top 3% educational institutions in the area of Central and Eastern Europe and the countries of the former Soviet Union.

This year, TBU finished in 91st place. “In comparison to the last year’s ranking, TBU has advanced by four positions,” said Prof. Petr Sáha, TBU Rector. Lomonosov Moscow State University took the top spot, and Charles University – the oldest and largest Czech university – took 4th place. TBU finished in 9th place out of the total of 26 Czech public higher education institutions. Prof. Sáha added: “At the same time, the ranking confirms that we are the best among universities established in the Czech Republic after 1989.”

The ranking of the British QS education company has been using its own methodology based on nine indicators. “We have achieved spectacular results in the following categories: Papers per Faculty, International Faculty Ratio, Academic Staff with Ph.D., International Student Ratio and Employee Reputation,” said Prof. Petr Sáha.

In September, the University was included in the prestigious list of the world’s top thousand universities published by the reputable British Times Higher Education (THE) company and ranked among the top 5% of universities worldwide. According to the THE World University Rankings, TBU is the 8th best educational institution in the Czech Republic and has been ranked as the top university established after 1989.
