About Us

The Department of Electronics and Measurements currently has 10 members of staff, of whom are  1 professor and  2 associate professors. In both Bachelor's and Master's study it participates in teaching electrotechnical subjects within a degree course entitled Automation and Process Control that is part of the degree programme in Chemical and Process Engineering, as well as within degree courses entitled Automatic Control and Informatics and Information Technologies that are part of the degree programme in Engineering Informatics. The Department is also responsible for teaching technical subjects within a degree course entitled Security Technologies, Systems and Management that is part of the degree programme in Engineering Informatics.

The following subjects are especially concerned: Instrumentation and Measurement, Electrotechnics and Industrial Electronics, Technical Means of Automation, Signal Processing, and Numerical Signal Diagnostics. The Department is also responsible for teaching basic electrotechnical subjects within some of the degree courses offered by the Faculty of Technology. Technical subjects taught within a degree course entitled Security Technologies, Systems and Management particularly include: Technical Means of the Securities Industry, Object Security / Mechanical and Electronic Elements, and Systematization of the Securities Industry. The Department simultaneously participates in a Doctoral programme entitled Chemical and Process Engineering and its degree course in Technical Cybernetics.

Research and development activities of the Departmental staff primarily focus on the following areas:

  1. development of smart sensors for biopolymer processing, especially hydrolyzed collagen and composite materials with natural and synthetic fibres,
  2. measuring minor technical variables in technological processes,
  3. sensoric systems for robotics and telematics,
  4. electromagnetic compatibility.

The Departmental members are co-researchers for a research project of the MEYS, leading researchers for HEDF MEYS projects and co-researchers for one standard and one postdoctoral project of the GACR. In the education and research sphere, the Department works together in partnership with numerous domestic and foreign establishments.
