University Mourns the Loss of Assoc. Prof. Alois Glogar
1. November 2018It is with deep sadness that we inform you of the passing of a long-standing member of the TBU academic staff, doc. PhDr. Alois Glogar, CSc., who died at the age of 86 years.
Assoc. Prof. Glogar was largely instrumental in the establishment of the University, as well as of the Faculty of Management and Economics (FaME). He held the office of the first Dean of the FaME between 1995 and 1997. He later worked as an academic in the Department of Management where he focused mainly on marketing and the methodology of Master’s thesis seminars. He was also supervisor in a doctoral programme, as well as the author of a number of books, publications and articles published in well-known Czech and international research journals. In 2007 he received the Award by Rector of TBU in Zlín for his outstanding contribution to the establishment and development of the Faculty of Management and Economics in Zlín.
