American Award received by Czech Scientist

Another foreign scientific award was given to Prof. Martin Zatloukal from the Polymer Centre of the Faculty of Technology, Tomas Bata University in Zlín. He received the Bruce Maddock Award for his research in the field of polymer extrusion and coextrusion technology in Detroit, USA.

The award is annually awarded by the Society of Plastics Engineers, a US-based scientific association that unites 22,000 professionals from 84 countries worldwide. It is named after the American scientist Bruce H. Maddock and was first awarded in 1995.

“I regard this award as a significant international confirmation of research excellence in the field of rheology and processing of polymer materials. I would like to thank my family, former Ph.D. students, colleagues, mentors and TBU in Zlín for their support and cooperation,” said Prof. Zatloukal.

Prof. Zatloukal has already been awarded a scientific award for his research several times. In addition to the Czech awards, he is a holder of the ExxonMobil Chemical European Science & Engineering Award (2007), SPE Fellow Award (2013), Chemical Engineering Science Top Cited Papers (2014) and others. His professional qualities are also evidenced by the fact that in 2007 he became the youngest professor in the Czech Republic (at the age of 32).
