Universities Rejoin the European Sustainable Development Week
27. September 2024In 2025, Czech public higher education institutions once again took part in the European Sustainable Development Week (ESDW), held from 20 to 26 September 2024. This prestigious event, celebrated across Europe, focuses on promoting sustainability and environmentally friendly practices.
Almost all public universities and higher education institutions in the Czech Republic participated, organising a diverse range of activities during the week. They prepared a rich accompanying programme for students, staff, and the wider public. Various events and lectures on sustainability were held, refectories offered healthy vegetarian meals, students organised swaps and fairs, and themed films were screened.
Tomas Bata University in Zlín hosted workshops, expert discussions, healthy cooking sessions, and other events aimed at promoting a sustainable lifestyle.
The University also took part in the European Car-Free Day, supporting efforts to reduce emissions and protect the environment. Students and the TBU for Action on the Climate were actively involved as well. A full list of events held at TBU can be found at utb.cz/etur.
