Rector Appoints New Dean of the Faculty of Technology

The Rector of Tomas Bata University in Zlín, Milan Adámek, has appointed the newly elected Dean of the Faculty of Technology. For the 2026–2030 term of office, the position will be held by  Ing. Lenka Šenkárová, Ph.D.

Lenka Šenkárová works at the Department of Environmental Protection Engineering and has been professionally connected with the Faculty of Technology for many years. She graduated in Analytical Chemistry from the University of Chemistry and Technology, Prague, where she also completed her doctoral studies. She has gained professional experience at the same institution as well as at the Regional Centre of Advanced Technologies and Materials in Olomouc. Since joining TBU in 2014 as an assistant professor, she has served as Vice-Dean for Bachelor’s Studies between 2017 and 2019 and again since 2023.

In her candidacy programme, she emphasised both continuity and further development of the faculty. She aims to build on the areas that have long been successful while strengthening those with strong growth potential. Her priorities include high-quality and meaningful education closely linked with research and professional practice, supporting student success and developing graduates’ competencies.

“The Faculty should be an open and collaborative environment – a place where both students and staff can thrive and where work with real impact is created,” she said following her election. “I also want to further develop cooperation with companies and the region and strengthen the faculty’s role in society, whether through research, lifelong learning or outreach activities,” Lenka Šenkárová added.

Alongside education, she plans to further support research and project activities, international cooperation and stronger links with industry. An important part of her programme is also fostering collaboration across the faculty, supporting early-career academics and creating an environment that enables both high-quality work and professional growth.

Lenka Šenkárová will officially assume the position of Dean on 1 July 2026.
