UTB Successfully Hosts Its First International Alumni Meetup
14. July 2026On July 9–10, Tomas Bata University in Zlín hosted its first-ever International Alumni Meetup, organized by the International Office. The primary objective of this two-day event was to reconnect with former students, introduce them to the university’s latest developments, and open a dialogue regarding potential future collaboration.
The event brought together 25 alumni representing 19 countries, including both degree graduates and former short-term exchange students. The meetup successfully connected alumni who chose to stay and work in Zlín after their studies with those who traveled back to Zlín from abroad specifically for this occasion.
The programme commenced on Thursday evening at the Student Club, where participants were introduced to current university updates and the activities of the Alumni Club. A highly inspiring part of the evening featured alumni sharing their personal and professional success stories. The official presentations were followed by a networking session and a themed pub quiz, where participants tested their knowledge about UTB, the city of Zlín, the Czech Republic, and, of course, Tomáš Baťa.
This networking evening was followed up on Friday morning with guided tours of the Faculty of Applied Informatics, the Faculty of Multimedia Communications, and the Faculty of Management and Economics. Attendees had the opportunity to explore the laboratories and studios, seeing firsthand how much the university has evolved since their graduation. The two-day meetup concluded with a guided tour of Zlín, highlighting the city’s development and its unique architecture.
We believe that this event will foster future cooperation with our alumni and mark the beginning of a successful new university tradition.
