Join FHS in Supporting the Christmas Star Charity Fundraiser
20. October 2026Although Christmas is still some way off, it is never too early to start preparing for Advent. Join the Faculty of Humanities in its traditional pre-Christmas charity initiative, order a Christmas star (Poinsettia) and support those who need help. Throughout Advent, your Christmas star will remind you that even a small gesture can make a big difference.
For many years, the Faculty of Humanities has actively supported the Christmas Star charity fundraiser, organised by the non-profit organisation Šance Olomouc. Since 1998, the initiative has been helping children with serious illnesses. Proceeds from the sale of Christmas stars help fund treatment and support for the youngest patients at the Haemato-Oncology Ward of the Department of Paediatrics of the University Hospital Olomouc.
The proceeds will be used not only to buy Christmas presents, but also, and above all, to improve the hospital environment, purchase specialised equipment and medical supplies, provide financial and social support for families, fund recuperative stays for children who have completed treatment, and supply creative materials and leisure activities.

Price: CZK 120 per flower (large, red)

Payment: Cash on collection
Orders are binding. Please make sure you collect your flower at the specified time or arrange for a colleague to collect it on your behalf.
