Christmas Charity Collection for the Crisis Centre in Zlín: Help Children in Difficult Times
5. December 2025During the Christmas season, most of us enjoy moments of joy, comfort, and time spent together. Unfortunately, there are children who, instead of experiencing safety and peace, are going through challenging times. That’s why we at TBU are organizing a Christmas charity collection to support the Counselling and Crisis Centre in Zlín, the only facility in the Zlín Region that provides immediate assistance to children and adults facing difficult life situations.
The Counselling and Crisis Centre in Zlín is the sole facility in the Zlín Region that provides crisis assistance to children and adults. Each year, it supports 50 to 70 children who find themselves in difficult circumstances and in need of immediate help. The centre offers not only professional support, but also a safe and comforting space during moments of crisis. Currently, it has 11 crisis beds available, and next year it plans to increase its capacity by another 5.
Children who come to the crisis centre may stay for anything from a few hours to several weeks, depending on the severity of their situation. Their ages range from newborns up to 18 years old, with the majority being children aged 10 and older.
How Can You Help?
If you wish to contribute, you can donate:
- School supplies: writing or art materials, notebooks, calculators, compasses, rulers, erasers, etc.
- Toiletries and cosmetics: shower gels, shampoos, toothbrushes, toothpastes, deodorants, hygiene products, etc.
- Gift vouchers: e.g. toy shops, drugstore.
When to donate?
The collection will take place from 1 to 12 December 2025.
Where to donate?
You can bring your donations to the colleagues at the Human Resources Development – TBU Rectorate (1st underground floor, offices 0139 and 0140). Once the collection ends, all donated items will be delivered to the crisis centre.
