Faculty of Logistics of Crisis Management Celebrates Tenth Anniversary

The Faculty of Logistics of Crisis Management of TBU in Zlín based in Uherské Hradiště celebrated the tenth anniversary of its existence on Friday, 11 October 2019. A festive gathering took place in the Reduta Hall in Uherské Hradiště to mark the anniversary.

The festive event featured speeches by Assoc. Prof. Ing. Zuzana Tučková, Ph.D., Dean of the Faculty, and by Prof. Ing. Vladimír Sedlařík, Ph.D., Rector of Tomas Bata University in Zlín.

“Our Faculty is unique in the Czech Republic. It offers degree programmes focusing on the field of population protection, crisis management and environmental security. Our graduates are able to apply the acquired knowledge in unexpected situations such as floods, industrial disasters, pandemics or terrorist attacks. They learn how to prevent such situations, and, if these arise, how to deal with them correctly and swiftly.” says Assoc. Prof. Zuzana Tučková, Dean of the Faculty, about courses offered at the Faculty, and continues: “Specialists produced by our Faculty are of immense importance for the society, and the demand for them in the labour market continues to grow.”

The Faculty based in the town of Uherské Hradiště was established on 1 September 2009; therefore, the Faculty marks the decadal anniversary of its establishment this year. During the past 10 years, the Faculty successfully developed into an institution attractive to applicants from the whole Czech Republic and from Slovakia, educating both Bachelor’s and Master’s graduates. Last year, our first Master’s graduates finished their studies. This year, we were granted the accreditation of a new career-oriented Bachelor’s programme in Applied Logistics. It is a specialization closely connected to the commercial sphere, and its graduates will be highly demanded by employers. Our primary goal must precisely be to produce graduates with good employability in the labour market,” concludes the Dean.
