Graduation Ceremony for New Doctors and Associate Professors Held at TBU

March 2019Degree certificates and letters of appointments were handed over to newly graduated Doctors and newly appointed Associate Professors at Tomas Bata University in Zlín (TBU) on 7 March 2019. The University organizes the festive gathering of its academic community every year to mark the anniversary of its establishment (1 January 2001).
A total of 51 PhD students completed their studies in doctoral programmes taught at TBU last year, and 9 new Associate Professors were appointed.
Master’s graduates are offered the opportunity to pursue doctoral studies at five TBU Faculties and the Centre of Polymer Systems and that in the following disciplines:
- biomaterials
- nanotechnology
- food processing
- polymers
- materials chemistry
- tools and processes
- management and economics
- finances
- multimedia and design
- informatics
- pedagogy
At present, 388 PhD students study in the doctoral programmes carried out at TBU. A total of 699 PhD students from various countries have successfully completed their studies at the University since 2001, and a number of them have won scientific awards in the Czech Republic as well as abroad.
TBU in Zlín is entitled to execute authority in habilitation and professorial procedures in accredited fields at four of its Faculties.
