Graduation Ceremony of the University of the Third Age at TBU in Zlín

On Thursday, 20 June 2025, a special event took place at Tomas Bata University – the graduation ceremony for the alumni of the University of the Third Age (U3A). The atmosphere was festive, warm and friendly.

During the 2024/2025 academic year, more than 1,000 students attended the lectures held within the U3A programme, demonstrating that the desire for knowledge knows no age limits. Academia remains a place of growth at every stage of life, and we are proud that our university can provide this opportunity.

The U3A has been operating at TBU since 2002, and its significance continues to grow. This year’s graduates came not only from Zlín but also from Uherské Hradiště, Uherský Brod, Vsetín, and Kroměříž. Students were able to choose from a wide range of subjects – from medicine, psychology, and law to creative courses and food technology, with practical lessons held directly in the laboratories of the Faculty of Technology.

We thank all our graduates for their curiosity, perseverance, and joy of learning. They are an inspiration not only to those around them but also to us, their teachers. A big thank you also goes to all the colleagues who contribute to teaching at the University of the Third Age.

We wish all our new U3A graduates good health, mental vitality, and an unquenchable thirst for learning new things. As Henry Ford said: “Anyone who stops learning is old, whether at twenty or eighty. Anyone who keeps learning stays young.”

We look forward to another academic year together.
