Jirka Mádl and Vojta Kotek Were Awarded “Star Honorary Doctorate” by TBU9. September 2020
Also this year, Tomas Bata University in Zlín has taken a significant part in the organization of the Zlín Film Festival. One of the events through which the University contributed to the programme of this year’s edition of the Film Festival was the award of the so-called “Star Honorary Doctorate”.
Two Czech actors, film directors, and, last but not least, good friends – Jiří Mádl and Vojtěch Kotek received their star on the Walk of Fame in front of the Grand Cinema on 8 September 2020. Both of them were also presented with the award by Tomas Bata University in Zlín. The “Star Honorary Doctorate” was handed out by Prof. Vladimír Sedlařík, TBU Rector.
The actors featured in Czech comedy films: Snowboarders, The Rafters, and Ro(c)k podvraťáků. Mádl also appeared in Taming Crocodiles, The Can, Waking Up Yesterday, Kotek has recently featured in a TV miniseries Maria Theresia and the film Owners.
Reputable artists, such as Jiřina Bohdalová, Lucie Vondráčková, Mahulena Bočanová, Tereza Brodská, Dana Morávková and Jan Čenský have been presented with the award by TBU over the past years.
