President of the Senate Miloš Vystrčil Visits TBU

The President of the Senate of the Parliament of the Czech Republic, Miloš Vystrčil, paid a visit to Tomas Bata University during his two-day official visit to the Zlín Region.

On Sunday evening, at the Faculty of Informatics, he opened the national round of the Mathematical Olympiad organized by Grammar School Zlín – Lesní čtvrť. He encouraged students: “Keep on developing your talent, enjoy the Olympiad as well as your visit to Zlín; and don’t forget that math is fun and a brain workout. On Monday, he was welcomed by the management board of the University in the building of the Rectorate. The visit commenced with a meeting held by Milan Adámek, Rector of TBU, who presented the international strategy of TBU, as well as its current research achievements. They also discussed the issue of high administrative burden associated with government scholarships intended for international students. Mr. Vystrčil also signed the memorial book of TBU. Later, he hosted a debate with senior citizens attending the University of the Third Age, focusing on the legislative role of the Senate, as well as the tasks of senators in the particular regions. In addition, he thanked the U3A attendees for an exhibition of oil paintings which was held in the building of the Senate in February. He ended his visit with a tour of the Centre for Security, Information and Advanced Technologies CEBIA-Tech.
