Students Put On 20th Anniversary Edition of Paraparáda Sporting Event

December 2023Students of Tomas Bata University in Zlín have organized the 20th anniversary edition of the non-profit project called “PARAPARÁDA”, which aims to break down the imaginary barriers between the disabled and non-disabled worlds. The event took place in the gym of the Secondary Technical School in Zlín on Monday, 4 December 2023.
A total of 6 competing teams participated in the event, coming from, e.g. Housing Centre for People with Disabilities, Protected Housing in Staré Město and Slunečnice (Sunflower) association, which are all run under the umbrella of the Social Services Uherské Hradiště organization. The teams took part in various sporting and creative activities. In fulfilling their tasks, competitors were assisted by members of the Police of the Czech Republic and the Fire Rescue Crew.
The programme was interspersed with a performance of dancers from the School of Arts and Music in Zlín and dancers from the TBU Dance Team. The event was also attended by angels accompanied by a devil, who brought presents for the competitors.
We sincerely hope that all participants enjoyed the event and we look forward to another edition of PARAPARÁDA in 2024. The PARAPARÁDA is organized by students of the Faculty of Multimedia Communications of Tomas Bata University in Zlín as part of the course unit entitled “Non-Profit Organizations’ Projects”.
