TBU Once Again Takes Part in the Zlín Film Festival
20. May 2022The Zlín Film Festival, traditionally organized at the end of the academic year, is very popular among TBU students and employees. Since its establishment, the University has been actively involved in the organization of the Festival programme. The 62nd edition of the Film Festival will take place from 26 May to 1 June 2022.
A special programme, namely A Day with TBU, will be held by the University on Monday, 30 May, in the afternoon, in a tent situated in the Peace Square, where children will have the opportunity to have their faces painted or to join various games. In addition, members of the TBU American football team – Zlin University Golems, and cheerleaders will present their activities there.
The following day, on Tuesday, 31 May (from 3.30pm), TBU Star Honorary Doctorates will be conferred on actors Barbora Seidlová and Jan Šťastný in front of the Grand Cinema. The popular event has been organized for a number of years.
TBU Faculties also participate in the organization of the programme for children throughout the entire Festival. Students of the Faculty of Multimedia Communications will help with the organization of a Film Laboratory and workshops on the theme “The Use of Virtual Reality in Art” held in the University Centre.
The Faculty of Technology will have two KOMA modules installed in the Peace Square throughout the entire Festival, where a programme entitled “A Journey to the Prehistory with the Faculty of Technology” will take place.
Students of philological degree courses of the Faculty of Humanities will assist international guests to the Festival and will provide interpreting services to them, while students of healthcare and pedagogical degree courses will provide assistance in the first aid tents. A programme for schools focused on the safety of children will be held in the building of the FHS.
