TBU Will Provide Premises for Vaccination against COVID-19

A new vaccination centre will be opened on Monday, 16 August 2021 at Tomas Bata Regional Hospital in Zlín. It will be located in the 1st pavilion, which is used by the Faculty of Humanities for the implementation of degree programmes in healthcare. This was agreed between the Management Board of the University, the hospital and the Zlín Regional Authority. The new premises will replace the mass vaccination centre in the PSG Arena, which will close on Sunday, 15 August 2021.

“We consider the provision of university premises to the vaccination centre as an integral part of our cooperation with the Zlín Regional Authority, taking into consideration the needs of the inhabitants of Zlín and of our region,” said Rector Prof. Vladimír Sedlařík.

Changes in the schedule necessary due to the establishment of the vaccination centre will affect around 400 students; their classes will be held elsewhere. Students will then have practical training directly in the vaccination centre.

As set in the agreement on mutual cooperation concluded for this purpose between TBU and Tomas Bata Regional Hospital, the operation of the vaccination centre is expected to run until at least the end of January 2022. More detailed information about the opening hours of the centre and on registration can be found on the website of the hospital.
