Specialist Lecture on Forests, Wood and Sustainability for an Exhibition to Be Held in G18
22. July 2021On 16 June 2021, the G18 gallery will open with a new design exhibition entitled “The Story of Tree Rings” organized by students of Arts Management at the Faculty of Multimedia Communications of TBU in Zlín, who have decided to present to the visitors to the exhibition crafts and work with materials – both in the traditional context and from the point of view of sustainability. The exhibition will run until 8 July 2021.
Wood will be presented here trough products reflecting recycling and upcycling, that is, through the issue of renewable resources with an emphasis on contemporary young design.
While part of the exhibition will symbolize a look into future, the other part will represent a return to our roots, namely to the forest as a place of a new life, growth and renewal, a place that stimulates our senses.
The exhibition opens to visitors free of charge from Monday to Thursday (1pm to 6pm). TBU students and employees will also participate in its programme, for example by attending a lecture organized by the TBU for Action on the Climate initiative. The lecture aims to present to the attendees the laws of the influence of forests on the climate from different perspectives, the principles of sustainability of wooden or paper products, and will provide inspiration for further interaction with the given environment.
