Tourism Economics

The presented study programme aims to prepare students primarily for scientific academic activity. Due to its application to the field of tourism, its second goal is to educate graduates as experts in the extensive sector of tourism, using the application of new research and development methods and tools for increasing the performance and efficiency of, e.g. administrative processes in connection with their integration in complex corporate systems, especially of service or hospitality companies. The goal is also to develop and intensively strengthen the ability to make independent decisions based on critical evaluation of documents and critical discussion using expert evaluation, to also develop and strengthen professional language competences, especially in the English language. The use of mathematical and statistical methods for solving research problems and their application is a matter of course. Emphasis is placed on the ability to independently solve a research task, high-quality processing of presentations and publication of given outputs.

Duration: 4 academic years / Mode of Study: Full-Time or Part-Time / Degree Obtained: Ph.D.

The nearest deadline for the application form submission (with all mandatory attachments) to the academic year 2024/2025 is 17 May 2024.

Dates of sessions of the admission committee: the admission committee will sit continuously; most often at the end of each month during the period for submitting applications for study.

Tuition Fee and Scholarship

* The Rector’s scholarship is intended for first-year PhD students only. The scholarship may be granted at the request submitted by an admitted applicant to the Rector. In order to receive the scholarship, the applicant’s request has to be approved by the Rector. In addition, an applicant has to be enrolled on a degree course for a minimum of 15 calendar days in the relevant month and have paid the tuition fee for the given academic year.
