Information for Students on Limited Operation of Catering Facilities during Renovation

Dear students,
the food-serving facility of the central Refectory of TBU in Zlín situated in Univerzitní Street is currently undergoing complete renovation. The gastronomy equipment used until recently was no longer in accordance with modern operational and technological requirements, therefore, a new concept of operation has been proposed, which will significantly speed up the serving of meals to diners.

Due to the unexpected postponement of the construction work until October 2023, it is necessary to modify the operation of the HRR catering facilities as follows:

U4 Refectory:

Only the staff refectory with a capacity of 122 seats will be opened.
The offer of packed and preserved meals will be extended.
The lunch hours will be extended – lunch will be served from 10 am to 3 pm.

U13 Restaurant:

The seating capacity has been increased to 200, both in the restaurant and in the adjacent areas of the 1st floor. Diners can optionally collect packed meals at the collection point (currently the cloakroom) situated next to the restaurant.
The lunch hours will be extended – lunch will be served from 10 am to 3 pm.

Garni Hotel:

Meals will be served in the restaurant with a capacity of 60 seats, with optional use of the lounge with a capacity of 45 seats situated on the second floor.
The lunch hours will be extended – lunch will be served from 10:30 am to 2 pm.

Cafeteria in the U2 building:

The number of hot meals will be increased.
Opening hours will be extended until 3 pm.

Refectory in the U5 building:

The number of hot meals will be increased.
Opening hours will be extended until 3 pm.

During the renovation, the selection of hot meals will be limited – only three hot meals will be on offer.

From the beginning of September to the end of October, packed meals will be on sale in all catering facilities, without payment for packaging (meals will be packed in advance in order to ensure a faster provision of services to diners).
In order to guarantee a smooth operation, we would like to ask all diners to vacate their place as soon as possible after they have finished their meal.

We hope that with your help we will be able to get through this difficult period. Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the HRR staff.
