Prof. Dr. Audrey Schultz from PRATT Institute in New York Visits TBU

The aim of the visit by Prof. Dr. Audrey Schultz was to build on the visit by a delegation from Tomas Bata University in Zlín to the PRATT Institute in New York, and to develop cooperation in the area of short-term thematic internships focused on design influenced by close and intelligent connection between the real and virtual world, where the key line is the world of art, design and a highly modern lifestyle.

“The key philosophy of perception is visible information that directly changes our perspective of the world,” says Prof. Schultz. “The above is the core of technological IT information as perceived in the PRATT and as it is further integrated into the own lifecycle of smart buildings,” she adds.

The Pratt Institute has been ranked among the world’s top 10 higher education institutions focused on arts and design in 2023. Pratt Institute is ranked fifth among US art and design colleges in the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2023.

Professor Audrey Schultz teaches interior design a facility management at the Northern Virginia Community College and Pratt Institute in New York. She holds leadership positions on the Pratt Academic Senate as Finance Officer and is a member of many Institute-wide and School of Architecture committees and initiatives. Prof. Schultz received her PhD in the Built Environment from The University of Salford, England, concentrating on lean visual management technologies in facilities management operations. She has international research and publishing experience in design science research and action research, lean and visual management.

During her visit to Zlín, Professor Schultz also attended a guided tour of the building “21” (Zlín skyscraper).
