Diplomky 25 Exhibition

The Faculty of Multimedia Communications (FMC) of Tomas Bata University in Zlín is delighted to present the eighth edition of the DIPLOMKY 25 graduate exhibition. This year’s showcase will take place across three venues – the university gallery G18, the Kolektivní dům, and the Rectorate building of TBU. The opening ceremony will be held on Tuesday, 24 June at 6pm.

The exhibition presents the final works of more than 80 graduates from 13 FMC studios: Animation, Audiovisual Arts, Arts Management, Fashion Design, Shoe Design, Glass Design, Digital Design, Game Design, Graphic Design, Product Design, Spatial Design, Industrial Design, and Photography. The concept highlights what lies beneath the surface – layers that only reveal themselves upon closer, more focused observation.

Visitors can look forward to viewing prototypes of shoes with accessories, fashion collections, light installations with glass elements, interior furniture designs, sets of jewellery, and more. Short films will be screened in the animated and audiovisual sections, while game prototypes will be available for visitors to try out in the Game Design section. Some projects tackle emerging darker themes, such as a glass installation addressing family trauma or a sculptural set exploring generational burnout. Others aim to lighten the mood, including a therapeutic shoe design project created in collaboration with laypeople, multimedia explorations combining music and visuals, and inquiries into how to offer today’s person a meaningful, sustainable, and calming environment.

The exhibition is open daily from 10am to 6pm, including weekends and public holidays, from 25 June to 15 July 2025. Entry to all venues is free of charge.

To mark the opening, an after-show party will take place on Tuesday, 24 June from 7pm in the courtyard of the Faculty of Multimedia Communications (building U4, Univerzitní 2431). The evening will feature Slovak DJ duo MALALATA, known for their dynamic Balkan beats, gypsy music, and reggae fusion sets. Having performed at festivals like Colours of Ostrava, Pohoda and Uprising, their infectious energy promises to get even the most hesitant attendees moving. Entry to the after-show party is also free.
