Christmas Collection Raised Over CZK 34,000
11. December 2020The Faculty of Humanities would like to express their thanks to all employees of Tomas Bata University in Zlín, who took part in a fundraising initiative entitled “Poinsettia to Help Fight Leukaemia”. Thanks to their significant participation, a total of CZK 34,300 were raised.
“We are greatly delighted to see such a huge interest from TBU staff. Employees at all component parts, including our colleagues in Uherské Hradiště, got involved in the fundraising event, and we appreciate each of them,” said Dr. Krátká, one of the initiators of the event at the FHS. TBU employees collected their red Poinsettias in the lobby of the Educational Complex on Thursday 3 December 2020, thus donating money for a good cause.
The fundraising event has been annually helping sick children who receive treatment in the Haemato-Oncology Ward of the Department of Paediatrics of the University Hospital Olomouc for 23 years. It was PhDr. Miroslava Kubicová, PhD., who works at the Department of Health Care Sciences, who introduced this traditional festive fundraising initiative at the Faculty of Humanities in Zlín. “I have been instrumental in this initiative since its very beginnings, and I have been supporting this idea for the entire 23 years,” said Dr. Kubicová. “We would like to express our warmest thanks to all employees for their participation, and, since we have received positive feedback from them, we are already sure that we will organize the event also next year,” she concluded.
