Christmas Star Charitable Project
19. October 2023Help us support children oncologic patients via a charitable collection, organized by Šance Olomouc in conjunction with the Department of Health Care Sciences of the Faculty of Humanities of TBU in Zlín.
The project has been helping sick children since 1998. The fundraising initiative aims to support children receiving treatment in the Haemato-Oncology Ward of the Department of Paediatrics of the University Hospital Olomouc.
The money raised will be used not only for the purchase of Christmas presents but, above all, to make the hospital environment more welcoming and comfortable, for the purchase of high-quality equipment and medical supplies, to provide financial support and social assistance to families, to fund recovery stays of the young patients who have completed their therapy, to purchase art supplies or to financially support the children’s leisure time activities.
So how can you help?
Order a Poinsettia by sending an email to vanocnihvezda2023@utb.cz before 2 pm on 15 November 2023. Please specify your name, surname, TBU component part and the number of plants you want to buy.
Price of the plant: CZK 120 (large, red)
You can collect your plant in the lobby of the building U18 between 11am and 1pm on 30 November 2023. The purchase shall be paid in cash upon collection.

Poinsettia, or Christmas Star, is an indoor plant which has become a symbol of the Christmas season and the miracles it celebrates. The red plant is believed to bring love and peace to families. For children suffering from serious illnesses, it is even of a much greater importance, because it is helping them on their journey to health.
