After eight years, the Faculty of Logistics and Crisis Management is seeing a change in its leadership. Prof. Ing. Vladimír Sedlařík, Ph.D. has been elected as the new Dean, having received the confidence of the FLCM Academic Senate.
Professor Sedlařík is no stranger to Tomas Bata University. From 2018 to 2022, he served as Rector of the university. He is currently Director of the Centre of Polymer Systems at TBU and has long been involved in academic, research and teaching activities.
He is joining FLCM with a clear aim: to build on what works while continuing to look for new opportunities for growth.
“I would like to build on the work of Professor Zuzana Tučková and everything the Faculty has achieved. At the same time, I would like to move it forward and look for new opportunities for its further development,” said Prof. Sedlařík when presenting his candidacy.
Prof. Ing. Zuzana Tučková, Ph.D., led the Faculty during a period of significant growth, strengthening its position in logistics, crisis management, security and civil protection. The Faculty also expanded its cooperation with industry, professional institutions and the public, while increasing its visibility both within TBU and beyond.
The new Dean intends to build on these achievements.
Professor Sedlařík’s experience in university leadership may prove to be a significant advantage for the Faculty. He knows the TBU environment not only as an academic and researcher, but also from the university’s highest management position.
His appointment as Dean of FLCM therefore brings together management experience, an academic background and extensive research expertise.
