Gumference 2026 in Zlín to Connect Experts from Academia and Industry

The Centre of Polymer Systems at Tomas Bata University in Zlín will host the expert online conference Gumference 2026 on 5 February 2026. The conference traditionally focuses on advanced testing methods used to characterise not only the properties of rubber, but also the use of data for numerical simulations and the prediction of the behaviour of rubber products. One of the most pressing issues currently addressed by the rubber industry is the emission of abrasion particles into the environment, and this topic will also be a key focus of Gumference.

The conference traditionally brings together experts from academia and industrial partners and, thanks to the virtual format in which it is held, enables networking among specialists from all over the world. Speakers include scientists and industry professionals from the Far East to the Far West, which is reflected in the international diversity of the audience.

“Gumference is unique in its ability to connect top-level research with the real needs of industry. This synergy is essential for the further development of rubber materials and products based on current demands and the latest scientific knowledge, and for ensuring their successful application in practice,” said Assoc. Prof. Radek Stoček, conference coordinator and head of the Rubber Technologies research group at the CPS.

Gumference 2026 builds on the success of previous editions and confirms the long-term role of the Centre of Polymer Systems at TBU as a significant research and innovation centre in the field of rubber materials research at the international level.
