TBU Regained TOP 100 Spot in the UK Ranking QS EECA 2019

Tomas Bata University in Zlín is ranked No. 92 in the EECA (Emerging Europe and Central Asia) ranking, which features universities from Central and Eastern Europe and from Central Asia. This year, the British QS company (Quacquarelli Symonds), the publisher of the ranking, evaluated more than 450 universities from 24 countries and included 300 higher education institutions in the ranking.

Just 12 out of 28 Czech public and state higher education institutions were included in the ranking. TBU got the best rank among universities established in the Czech Republic after 1989; in the overall comparison, TBU holds the 9th rank in the Czech Republic.

The QS EECA University Rankings is a ranking published since 2014 and using its own methodology. Among the indicators used, the academic reputation of a higher education institution (based on a global survey), the employer reputation, citations per paper (according to the Scopus database), the percentage of international students and academic staff of the relevant university can be named.

This year, the Zlín-based university reached the top spot in the ranking published by the renowned UK company Times Higher Education. In the edition published in October, TBU was ranked top among Czech universities in business and economics subjects. In the global comparison, TBU occupies the rank 401-500. In June, TBU was placed among the top 40 of the world’s best universities established after 2000.
