Brief description of the project:
The implementation of the project is crucial in order to improve the accessibility and dynamics of the development of the TBU Library collection and related web services. To ensure high quality services, it is necessary to upgrade the currently used technical equipment. The renewal of this library equipment will allow users to use state-of-the-art tools for searching, processing and presenting professional information for study and professional purposes. At the same time, the project has a developmental character, as it will allow easier implementation of new tools and more frequent updates of the functionality of key systems.
Objectives and results of the project: The primary objective of the project is to renovate and expand the technical equipment of the TBU library in order to increase the availability and dynamics of the development of its collection and services. Sub-goals leading to the fulfillment of the project are: SG 1: Creation of a dedicated logical cluster of physical servers, SG 2: Renewal of virtualized desktop infrastructure including clients. By ensuring the separate operation of library virtual servers, the availability of key services (library catalogue, electronic collections, digital repositories) will increase. Thanks to the new server infrastructure, outages will be reduced and continuous availability will be ensured. At the same time, it opens up the possibility of upgrading the currently used virtualization tool to new versions that offer new functions required by users.
