Student
All students at TBU in Zlín are obliged to have a student identity card which takes the form of a personalized contactless chip ID card. The student ID card is one of the documents included in the documentation of studies (in accordance with Act No. 111/1998 Coll., on Higher Education Institutions, as amended).
In compliance with Rector’s Decree No. 15/2023, TBU in Zlín issues a student identity card which takes the form of a personalized contactless chip ID card, with the TBU uniform visual style used.
Fees related to the issuance of cards and their duplicates adhere to Bursar’s Directive on Fees Related to Administrative Actions Connected to Issuance of Documents, as amended.
The ID card plays an important role mainly within the University: Besides serving as a means of identification for students, it also entitles them to a number of internal University services:
- Access to the University buildings, selected premises and lecture rooms,
- Access to the Library and loan services,
- Catering in the facilities of the Halls of Residence and Refectory,
- Payment for reprographic services (copy and print).
Validity of the student ID card with ISIC licence:
This type of ID cards will no longer be issued by TBU, their validity will no longer be extended by a renewal stamp, and no replacement ID cards will be issued.
All the above-mentioned ID cards issued before 31 July 2023 shall remain valid for current students throughout the whole period of study, and the provisions of Article 1, Paragraph 4 to 7 and Article 3, Paragraph 4 of Rector’s Decree No. 15/2023 shall apply to them.

TBU is negotiating with the GTS ALIVE s.r.o. company on the conclusion of a new Cooperation Agreement; in compliance with this Cooperation Agreement and on the basis of the prior consent of a student, TBU will provide the above-mentioned external entity with selected students’ personal data required for the issuance of the ISIC digital International Student Identity Card, and regularly update the data provided. The conclusion of the Cooperation Agreement shall not affect the price of the ISIC digital International Student Identity Card. The price is fully within the competence of the said company (currently, the price is CZK 400).
Any student can apply for the issuance of the ISIC digital International Student Identity Card directly on the website of GTS ALIVE s.r.o. even before the new Cooperation Agreement has been concluded.
The ISIC digital International Student Identity Card shall not be used to prove the identity of a student at Tomas Bata University in Zlín or to identify him/her; the Card will not entitle the holder to use any internal services provided by Tomas Bata University in Zlín.
