Food Chemistry and Analysis

Faculty: Faculty of Technology Programme: Food Technology and Evaluation Specialization: Food Chemistry and Analysis Mode: Full time, Part time Type: Bachelor's Language: Czech

This programme is taught in Czech only

It is not quite right when you say that you just “like food,” you are actually deeply in love with it. Do you wish to dissect various kinds of food, analyse them, inspect them with a microscope and then ideally compare them among themselves? If so, do not worry, there is nothing wrong with you.

Right from the very start of our three-year Chemistry and Food Analysis course, you will be discovering the basics of natural science. This is a vital step you need to take if you want to become a gastrochemist. You will also get a chance to take the lid off basic food making methods, you will learn about a wide range of various important cooking ingredients, including bioactive compounds. We will trace the analytical methods which can be used to monitor individual groups of compounds in food. Not only will you be able to see all the equipment required for an analysis, you will also be capable of using it yourself. In little or no time you will be able to adequately prepare samples in order to conduct your own experiments, evaluate the results and so much more.

Most of the courses presented throughout your study in this programme are filled with laboratory hands on exercises which means if you do not mind wearing a lab coat, you are the right candidate for this program. Who knows, after finishing it you might even feel the urge to continue your studies in the Food Chemistry and Bioactive Compounds follow up Master’s degree program.
