TBU International Week 2023

Report

After a break of four years, it proved possible once again to welcome foreign visitors to Zlín for the 10th International Week at the TBU. The event was put on for staff at international offices and academics from partner universities involved in the Erasmus+ programme.

Taking place in the last week of April, International Week was attended by twenty guests from twelve foreign institutions. TBU’s International Office had laid on an interesting programme for them, notably workshops for sharing experiences and good practices relating to internationalization, student mobility and marketing.

Foreign guests also accepted an invitation from individual Vice-Deans for International Relations to tour all of the TBU’s faculties in Zlín. Consequently, they had the opportunity to visit chemical laboratories, the Laboratory of Artificial Intelligence, and the Fashion and Industrial Design studios. They also were shown around Zlín itself.

As now customary, the International Festival formed part of the event, so Czech and foreign students were able to enjoy the associated activities. Organization of the Festival was aided by international students who had come to Zlín either for short-term study periods or degree programmes taught in English. Many of them prepared contests and fun things related to their home countries, cultures and traditions for Czech students, as well as the chance to sample traditional dishes and delicacies.

“I am delighted that after a break of a few years, we have again managed to arrange and hold at the TBU a successful event that brought together colleagues from partner universities. Once more we were able to strengthen international relations at a personal level,” said Assoc. Prof. Marek Kubalčík, Vice-Rector for Internationalization.
