Face Masks Made from Nanomaterial Will Help Protect Paramedics

Prof. Vladimír Sedlařík, TBU Rector, has donated dozens of face masks that are in high demand these days to the Emergency Medical Service of the Zlín Region on behalf of Tomas Bata University in Zlín.

The face masks made from a special nanomaterial that is able to offer protection from catching Coronavirus will be used mainly by paramedics who are fighting Coronavirus “on the front line”. They have recently had the opportunity to test this special material.

The nanomaterial that is classified as FFP3 has been developed at the Centre of Polymer Systems in cooperation with the SPUR a.s. company. The company launched the production of face masks to be used in the Zlín Region. Face masks are also made in the sewing rooms of the Fashion Design studio of the Faculty of Multimedia Communications of Tomas Bata University in Zlín.

“Several days ago, we donated the nano face masks also to stomatologists who are exposed to the risk of infection from Coronavirus,” said Prof. Vladimír Sedlařík. More information is available in the article entitled Nano Face Masks to Help Protect Stomatologists in Zlín.
