Information on Programmes

General Description

Accredited study programmes one can complete as Bachelor’s, Follow-Up Master’s or Doctoral. It is possible to study most of them either as a full-time study or part-time education; many of them are also accredited for being taught in English.

Bachelor’s Programmes
The standard duration of studies is 3 years. During this period of time students learn how to apply their theoretical knowledge and practical skills in the chosen profession and are being prepared for studies in the follow-up Master’s programme. Studies are duly completed with a final state examination, part of which is the Bachelor’s thesis. Graduates are awarded the academic degree of ‘Bachelor’ (abbreviation Bc.). Graduates in Visual Arts are awarded the degree of ‘Bachelor of Arts’ (abbreviation BcA.).


Follow-Up Master’s Programmes
Within a follow-up Master’s programme students gain theoretical knowledge based on the present state of scientific knowledge, learn how to apply the knowledge and are encouraged to develop their skills in R&D and creative activities. The programme follows the Bachelor’s programme and its standard duration is 2 years. Studies are duly completed with a final state examination, part of which is the Master’s thesis defence. Graduates are awarded the academic degree of ‘Engineer’ (abbreviation Ing.), graduates from the Faculty of Multimedia Communications and from the Faculty of Humanities are awarded the degree of ‘Master’ (abbreviation Mgr.) and graduates in Visual Arts are awarded the degree of ‘Master of Arts’ (abbreviation MgA.).


Doctoral Programmes
Within a doctoral programme students concentrate on scientific and individual creative activities in the field of research and development. The standard duration of study is 3 or 4 years. Graduates are awarded the degree of ‘Doctor’ (abbreviation Ph.D. written after the name).
