TBU eduroam Wireless Network
A Wi-Fi network called eduroam is available to students and employees in all TBU buildings.

Rules governing the operation
The rules governing the operation of the wireless network are specified in the Rector’s Directive No. 29/2024 and the Roaming Policy of the eduroam network.
About the eduroam network
The Wi-Fi network called eduroam is a global Wi-Fi infrastructure that can be used by users of all institutions participating in the eduroam federation. Under the roaming policy, users can connect to the eduroam Wi-Fi network with their username not only at their home organization, but also anywhere in the world where the eduroam Wi-Fi network is operated. For this purpose, each user is assigned a unique username in the form login@realm. Login is the username, realm is the domain name of the organization.
UTB users have a username for the eduroam Wi-Fi network in the following format: login@utb.cz
The username for the eduroam Wi-Fi network is in the form of an email address, but it is not an email address in this case. The realm @utb.cz determines the user’s affiliation with the home institution that will authenticate the user’s username.
Setting up a password to connect to the eduroam network
Before connecting for the first time, you need to set up a password for the eduroam Wi-Fi network. Use the web form to set up / change / reset your password:
For security reasons, the password for the eduroam Wi-Fi network must be different from the one used by the user to access the UTB network, the IS/STAG system, e-mail, etc. Without setting this password, it will not be possible to connect to the eduroam Wi-Fi network.
Setting up your device
To set up the connection profile, it is recommended to use the configuration tool eduroam CAT configuration tool. The tool is available for most types of devices and operating systems.
For configuration on mobile devices (Android, Apple), you can also use the geteduroam application.
Manual configuration of wireless connection
If the automatic connection configuration fails or if you want to set up connection manually, please use these configuration parameters:
- Name of the network (SSID): eduroam
- Security and encryption type: WPA2 / AES
- Choose a network authentication method: the PEAP protocol (Protected EAP)
- Authentication method: EAP – MSCHAP v2
- Validate server certificate
- Set up authentication to radius1.utb.czor domain utb.cz
