Prescription drugs and medicines are sold only in pharmacies. Most common non-prescription drugs are now available at hypermarkets as well. Pharmacies may be recognized by the prominent green Cross displayed over the shop-front. Many have staff who can speak English or German.
Validity of Medical Prescriptions:
prescription from emergency service is valid for 24 hours
prescription for antibiotics is valid for 5 days
prescription for opiates is valid for 3 days
